Take a small piece of ginger approximately measuring 2 inch. peel the outer skin with a knife or spoon. Chop the ginger into small pieces
Slice half of the lemon into circular shapes and squeeze juice from the remaining half lemon. Reserve both for later use
In a saucepan with medium heat, pour 1 cup of water and bring it to boil
Close the lid of the pan and allow it to steep for 2 to 3 minutes
Open the lid and remove the ginger water from the heat and allow it to slightly cool down
In a pitcher, add the sliced lemon, lemon juice, and ginger water
Pour remaining 2 cups of room temperature water and mix well
Now add a few pieces of ginger, and lemon slice, and pour in the ginger lemon water. Feel free to add honey for sweetening the water
Serve this healthy ginger lemon water to soothe the itchy throat, and during cold, cough, and fever
