What is Cold Brew Coffee?
Cold Brew Coffee is the process of steeping fresh coffee ground in water at cold or room temperature for long hours. This process of making coffee is different from brewing them in hot water.
The coffee that is steeped for long hours in cold gives a stronger concentrate compared to other methods. It also has higher caffeine which should be diluted with water before enjoying it. Even though they are rich in caffeine they are less acidic which does not upset your tummy when taken frequently.
So let's check out how to make this drink easily at home in the below sections. I have also shared the perfect coffee-water ratio to make this drink crisp, bitter-less and that stays good for up to 1 week.

Serving Suggestions
This coffee is usually served over ice after the concentrate is diluted with water. It can be relished as it is or you can also pour half and half, heavy cream, or milk to enjoy a coffee shop-style drink.
Storage Suggestions
This drink stays good for up to 1 week in the refrigerator and achieves a great flavor and mildly sweet taste when it gets old.
Cold Brew Coffee Ratio
The perfect coffee-water ratio for this drink is ¼ cup of Coffee Beans for 1 cup of water. Here I have used 3 cups of water and so I have taken ¾ cup of Coffee beans. In other words, you will need 1 ounce of coffee beans for every cup of water.
This ratio will deliver the best cold brew which will produce roughly 2½ to 2 ¾ cups of concentrate after it is soaked and steeped.
Iced Coffee Vs Cold Brew
In Iced Coffee, the coffee powder is usually brewed in hot water and then chilled or brought to room temperature and then served over ice cubes. But in cold brew, the coarsely ground coffee is steeped in water for at least 16 to 18 hours which gives a crisp, bitter-less, and refreshing drink. It is stronger and has a high caffeine content compared to iced coffee.
