For Marination
Following are the ingredients you will need to marinate the shrimp.
- Shrimp - Fresh or frozen shrimp both work fine for this recipe. If you are planning to use frozen shrimp then bring them to room temperature before marinating
- Basic Seasoning Spices - I have used onion, garlic, ginger, pepper powder, and salt for seasoning but you can also feel free to customize it according to your preference
- Chili Sauce - Adding chili sauce delivers a nice flavor and heat to your shrimp
- Egg White - Helps to coat the shrimp with the breading mixture, Even though I have used only egg whites you can also use the yolk to marinate the shrimp
For Breading
Following are the ingredients you will need to bread the shrimp.
- All-purpose flour and cornstarch - Makes the outer coating for shrimp that helps to keep in the seasoning
- Panko Breadcrumb - I have used the panko breadcrumb which delivers a crispy and crunchy outer layer. You can also use unsweetened coconut flakes to coat the shrimp for similar results
- Spice Powders - Chili Powder and mixed Italian herbs to give some flavor to your flour mixture

How do you know Air-fried Shrimp is done?
Shrimps have the nature to cook faster within a few minutes and it turns pink and opaque once cooked well. But I would always recommend checking the internal temperature of the shrimp. The safe and minimal internal temperature recommended by FDA for seafood is 145° F (63° C) and you could also cook up to higher temperatures according to your preferences.
Storage Suggestions
I would recommend consuming this Air Fryer Shrimp as fresh as possible to enjoy its juiciness and crispiness. The shrimp might turn overcooked if it is reheated or air fried again. So I recommend enjoying it hot as soon as out from the air fryer.
Serving Suggestions
Serve this crispy Air Fryer Shrimp with buffalo sauce, garlic parmesan sauce, chili sauce or other favorite sauce of your choice as an appetizer or starter for lunch and dinner.
